Deepika Padukone recalls her childhood Holi

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone says that Holi is one of her favourite festivals and she remembers the time when she was a kid and played colours with friends.

"Holi has been one of my favorite festivals since childhood. Playing Holi with my friends from my building after coming back from school is one of my favorite childhood Holi memories. Preparations for the festival would start at least a week before," Deepika told IANS.

The actress, who delivered four back-to-back hits "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", "Chennai Express", "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela" and "Race 2" in 2013, is currently shooting for "Happy New Year".

She is looking forward to celebrate the festival with the cast of the film this year."This year I will be shooting for my film 'Happy New Year'. It's a fun bunch and I'm sure celebrating Holi on the set will be a lot of fun," she said.

Deepika, who is known for her beautiful skin, also keeps a check on her beauty regime around Holi.
"During Holi, I am concerned about my hair the most. Applying a coconut based hair oil acts as a protective layer for my hair against the colours and the summer heat. I tie my hair in a side braid or a messy pony tail. Also I make sure to keep myself hydrated," said the actress.

"Playing Holi can be exhausting. When I return home, I like to pamper myself with a coconut based hair oil massage and a cup of hot coffee," she added.

Sunny Leone : I see a lot more kissing in Hindi films now

Coming from an actor who has had a career in the adult sex entertainment industry, Sunny Leone says she is happy to see the Indian cinema evolving towards more acceptance for physical scenes.  Sunny, who is keen on her first Holi in India, said, "I see a lot more kissing in Indian films now since I've come to India. Deepika had her first on screen kiss, Sonam is doing a bikini number in her recent film and she looks very pretty in it...and all this is happening when I am here, which shows Indian audiences are accepting physicalityas aesthetic in films."

Sunny is happy about the fact that there is acceptance even about her and people in India are coming to terms with her as actor rather than her past as a porn star. "I am also doing a very exciting film that has me as the hero of the film along with another actress. So, now there are people who want to cast me in roles that are non-glamorous and acting oriented, which means there must be an audience that wants to see me in such roles too."

Movie Review: Bewakoofiyaan

Nupur Asthana’s “Bewakoofiyaan” deals with money, its effects on modern-day relationships, and how couples deal with societal pressures.

But the treatment of the film is quite outdated. There are autocratic fathers who don’t trust their daughters, and grown men who are out of a job but splurge on vacations and designer clothes.

None of the lead characters invite your sympathy or attention — whether it is Mayera (Sonam Kapoor), a spoilt, petulant girl who thinks her boyfriend’s credit card limit is a sign of growth; Mayera’s loud, blustering father (Rishi Kapoor) who doesn’t think twice before spying on the boyfriend; or Mohit Chaddha (Ayushmann Khurrana), the boyfriend in question.

The problems in their lives seem self-created (Mohit runs up heavy credit card bills even when he is unemployed, and Mayera insists that he lie to her father about losing his job), and as a result, the humour falls flat. Except, of course, when it is unintentional.

You cannot help but laugh out loud when Mayera’s boss tells her that a Dubai job she had earlier declined has been offered to someone else, but she still stands a chance if she reaches Dubai before the other guy.
“Go there today and work your magic for a week, so that when he arrives, they won’t give him the job but offer it to you instead,” he tells Mayera. If writer Habib Faisal had the faintest idea about how the corporate world or even the real world worked, this should never have been written.

The conflict in the film is centred around Mohit losing his job at an airline and how it affects his relationship with his girlfriend and her father, who judges everyone by how much money they earn and their clout.

In trying to keep up with the lie that he is still gainfully employed, both Mohit and Mayera struggle to keep up the facade and protect their relationship.

What could have been an interesting film about the times we live in, turns out to be an insipid romance that neither engages nor entertains. The actors seem unable to rise above their stunted roles and the situations aren’t funny enough.

Just like money can’t buy you love, a great idea cannot buy you a good film. Avoid this one.
